(week 2, monday) nino
[ Monday is probably a safe time. at least, when there isn't a million people crowding over Nino and what happened on Sunday - which had taken everyone by surprise, himself included.
and well. he's actually fairly certain that more than anyone here, he knows exactly what it's like to lose an eye.
Even though the eye had never been actually lost, the implanted memories of being blinded in one eye and the phantom pains never really went away, especially so now that something on the island was blocking his access to his Geass, blocking the very thing that had distracted him from the pain.
And Nino was a child. She looked barely Nunnally's age, and that was pretty much one of the deciding factors that caused Lelouch to leave his hut and head over to Nino's. He hesitates for a moment, but not for long - he knocks, and waits.
He has in his hand part of his rations - it would be rude to pay a visit without an offering of some sort. ]

As much as he might want to, Jaffar can't be by Nino's side 24/7; he has to handle things on his own as well. So when the knock comes, it's only Nino's voice that responds with a soft:]
Come in...
[She should probably ask who it is first??? But no, of course not.]
jfc i'm so sorry this is late
[ does she even know his name? but he'll step into her hut and close the door behind him, before he offers her a small smile. it's gentler and kinder than his interactions with anyone else on the island so far, actually. ]
How is your eye? Does it still hurt?
[ of course it does. he should have realised this. even his own injury, although it technically wasn't real, still hurt him for a long time. ]
it's no problem!
Nino just shakes her head quietly, because that's how she is anyway.]
I... I feel a little bit better.
[So she's not like...at crippling levels of pain anymore.]
You're...um, Lelouch...? [She's pretty good with names, but not being able to read the profiles makes remembering who's who complicated sometimes.]

... Are you able to walk properly? Adjusting to the change in depth perception is always the hardest.
[ he absolutely sounds like he's talking from experience, even though he doesn't look like he's actually lost an eye. ]

(It'll strike her a bit later that he's awfully knowledgeable about this for someone with two eyes.)]
I... I haven't really tried walking around very much, but...
[She shakes her head a little.]
I feel really dizzy when I do...
[The lack of painkillers probably doesn't help.]

but for now, he just looks. stricken. for a moment. just short enough for him to sort of think on how best to approach this because he probably should have asked for painkillers to help with this but he didn't, and-- ]
You have to get used to it, eventually.
[ it's not meant to be offensive, and the matter-of-fact tone he uses could have been toned down a bit, but well... ]
I promise it gets easier. [ he reaches out a hand, lets her decide if she wants to take it. ] Do you want to try? I'll hold you so you won't fall.
[ she can just. practice? around the hut? probably. ]

You... don't mind? I don't think I can do very much, but...
[She knows she has to get used to it. After all--]
I just.. I don't want to drag everyone else down. Especially not Jaffar.
[If he's stuck worrying over her, he's not taking care of himself, and that's not a good thing at all. She carefully, she reaches for Lelouch's hand.]
